The Old Nipissing Road Mapping Project

The Nipissing Road is an old colonization road in Northern Ontario, running roughly from the town of Rosseau on the shores of Lake Joseph to the village of Nipissing on southern Lake Nipissing.  What remains of the existing colonization road is a patchwork of gravel roads, 4x4 trails, and hiking trails that many people enjoy for a wide variety of pursuits.  It was about time someone mapped the road from end to end.

This website provides a variety of maps that show the Nipissing Road and it's surrounding areas.

This is a project of personal interest and consumes a lot of time.  It's always nice to hear from people about how they use and interact with the work I do, so please feel free to email anytime at mail@chrisgarstin.com
